The Ibanez SR400EPBDX electric bass is a versatile workhorse at an accessible price, featuring a smooth and fast neck, lightweight body and powerfully matched electronics. Its 5-piece maple/walnut neck provides tonal clarity and upgraded attack while the Jatoba fretboard produces a rich mid-range with a crisp high end. Its sound is driven by a set of PowerSpan Dual Coil pickups developed by Ibanez. The exposed pole pieces of the PowerSpan pickups produce a stronger signal and increase the response of the higher frequencies without sacrificing low end, resulting in a tone rich in harmonic detail and dynamic expression. Accessed by the 3-way Power Tap switch, the pickups offer a choice of three tonal personalities: a rich humbucker sound, a pure single-coil sound or an enhanced single coil sound, fattened by lows from the humbucker pickups. Dial into your sound further with the Ibanez Custom Electronics 3-band, featuring Boost and Cut for the Mid Control that are each centered on slightly different frequencies—an innovation that delivers a preset range of the most favorable bass tones. The Accu-cast B500 bridge has adjustable saddles for variable string spacing by +/- 1.5mm, answering every bassist’s specific string spacing needs.
